Principal DevOps Consultant
AIM Consulting Group is looking to add a Principal DevOps Architect to our team to lead transformational DevOps engagements from planning to implementation. The ideal candidates is a strong consultant who is passionate about helping clients transform their organizational culture to embrace the benefits of high performance DevOps; understands the full DevOps spectrum including the business; development and operational lifecycles, toolsets and processes; and is seeking an opportunity to directly influence the direction of a growing consulting practice.

We are looking for someone who thrives in building effective partnerships, works closely with AIM’s internal and external stakeholders, and is able to define the roadmap for client success.
Day-to-day you will:
- Work with a client to assess their current state against leading practices, identify their individualized DevOps success criteria and develop a DevOps strategy and delivery roadmap for their organization.
- Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions. Identify capabilities and technologies needed to achieve the clients DevOps Strategy
- Develop DevOps architecture and design for client
- Act as technical lead for DevOps transformation programs.
- Contribute intellectual property and provide thought leadership to support and shape a rapidly growing Cloud and Operations practice.
Qualification Requirements
- BS level technical degree or equivalent professional or military experience.
- 5+ years of large-scale software development or application engineering with recent coding experience in two or more of the following languages: Java, JavaScript, C/C++, C#, Objective-C, Node.js, .NET, Python, PHP or Ruby.
- 3+ years of experience as a technical advisor in customer-facing roles.
- Ability to describe various DevOps process and toolchain approaches. · Hands-on experience with architecting and automated provisioning (IaC), configuration management for infrastructure and applications.
- Hands-on experience with envisioning, designing, building and managing release systems, code merging and promotion, and CI/CD workflows and tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills who is comfortable communicating with a range of personas from executives to technical developers.
- Ability to plan and deliver client requirement and planning workshops both virtually and eventually in-person
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge in increasing agility, and reliability of software though various delivery and implementation methodologies.
- Computer Science or Engineering background.
- Demonstrated success as a software developer, application architect, release manager, product manager, or consultant working with various platforms.
- Experience architecting, designing and developing applications one or more of the major cloud platforms ( AWS, Azure, GCS, Oracle) .
- Experience designing and building applications using container and serverless technologies.
- Experience architecting highly available systems that utilize load balancing and horizontal scalability.
- Experience with Configuration Management platforms (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible).
- Strong practical application development experience on Linux and Windows-based systems.
- Experience working directly with customers, partners or third-party developers.
- Experience with blogging or writing technical articles or contributing to an open source project for new and existing technologies or application architecture and design.
- Participant in speaking engagements, published work, published blogs, and/or acquired patents, demonstrating industry notoriety.
- Assist in the career development of others, actively mentoring individuals and the Amazon developer community on advanced technical issues and helping managers guide the career growth of their team members.
- Exert technical influence over multiple teams, increasing their productivity and effectiveness by sharing your deep knowledge and experience.
- Lead technical and design discussions with Executives to help enterprises speed their adoption of new technologies and practices.
- Strong understanding of ITIL and IT operating model, Service Reliability Engineering concepts
