Our Application Development team consists of experienced technologists who approach software engineering pragmatically, with a focus on making the difference and providing a superb customer service. We build high-quality, cloud-first, multi-tier custom applications, help clients modernize their existing systems, and mature their quality engineering processes/tools and development methodologies.

Lead Consultants are responsible for the successful delivery of engagements with AIM’s clients by developing solutions for complex software engineering needs, pushing through difficult technical and delivery problems, and driving new processes and software adoption. Lead consultants also play a role in our AIM community through career advocacy, thought leadership and by helping us grow our teams and community.

Roles and Responsibilities

• You will be expected to develop high performance cloud-first software with focus on quality
• You are required to create and review system designs and architectures and define software development standards and guidelines
• You will be participating in code reviews and will be signing-off on technical solutions
• You will be required to troubleshoot, debug, and evaluate application and infrastructure code
• You will lead project delivery teams and assess and report on delivery risks
• You will have an opportunity to assist in engagement pre-sales activities by creating project proposals, estimating project deliverables, resources and timelines and help build project teams
• You will share and create perspectives on implementing modern technology solutions and processes and will periodically share technology insights by writing thought leadership content (e.g., blog posts, case studies)

Requirements

• You have 8+ years of software development experience in mature environments
• If you are a back-end focused engineer you have experience with one or more of the following languages: Java, .NET, Node.js
• If you are a front-end focused engineer, you have experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (such as React, Angular or Vue)
• You have 3+ years of experience developing cloud systems (AWS or Azure)
• You are knowledgeable about modern software architectures (e.g., microservices, serverless)
• You are deeply familiar with multiple agile methodology process wrappers (e.g., scrum, Kanban)
• You have prior team leadership, management, or consulting leadership experience
